In the New Year
I hoping in the new year I’ll see some new life experiences. I think I’m about to find myself in a new place (not a new location but a new chapter). Of course I’ll share with you all any news I have but for now just know I think the new year is going to be full of new things. I’m not usually overly excited about new years. I’m just one of those people who kind of...
No Clothes
I’m not buying clothes for 3 months starting today. I cannot buy clothes until March 26. The last article of clothing I bought was a Rolling Stones 1981 American Tour t-shirt but who wouldn’t buy that??? This is an attempt to save money. The following are stipulations under which I can buy an article of clothing:
1. I suddenly must attend a formal event. I don’t own a formal...
Planes, Trains, & Automobiles
You wouldn’t believe the adventure I’ve been on these last few days. NYC was amazing. The weather was beautiful and the city was alive for Christmas. I couldn’t believe all the sights and how lucky I was to be there.
Until Saturday when I was supposed to fly out and my flight was canceled. I was shocked. My body went numb. I had to be home for the Youth Worship service the next...
Holiday Cheer
I’m planning for the holidays as of this weekend. Besides my jet-setting up to NYC for a few days I have lots of holiday planning to do. I’m cooking dinner and my parents are arriving next Wednesday and of course we have a Christmas Eve service here at the church. Then it will be Christmas Day and we’ll be opening gifts and celebrating before you know it. I can’t believe...

It reminds me of all the inspiring things I see around me and she inspires me as a friend. This Spring I am planning a trip over seas to finally go and see her beloved Belfast, Ireland. I can’t wait to experience all the things she experiences and meet all her people.
I’ve been working hard on getting things...
Wordle
This week I introduced the office to one of my favorite websites ever: wordle.net. It’s a creative way to arrange words and make your own graphics. I absolutely love how some of the graphics turned out. I’m hoping to take song lyrics and arrange them into a really cool graphic to make into t-shirts for the youth group.
Next weekend I get to officiate my first Baptism. One of the girls...

It all begins.
So December is a busy month. Advent is busy and believe it or not Christmas is not busy. It’s all about Advent. Besides the programs, worship services, candle-making, picture-taking, shopping and events there is the ever-present theme of Advent: waiting. This season is no longer about patiently waiting for my Grandma’s peanut butter balls (which I am now charged with making yikes!)....
